Bob has lived in Christchurch for 25 years after moving from Bournemouth, as a keen student of the history of Christchurch and the surrounding area, he spends many hours cycling around our beautiful environment. Having worked as an engineer for over 40 years for Royal Mail, for many years he was active as a Trade Union representative in Royal Mail gaining invaluable experience in the skills of effective representation and negotiation.

His aims as a prospective councillor for the new unitary authority are to present a fresh face and fresh ideas on behalf of the residents of Christchurch. For the last 9 months he and his Labour colleagues have been speaking to local residents to obtain their views and concerns. Therefore, he now has a greater understanding of the issues that affect the community such as traffic congestion and the resultant air pollution. He also understands the need for more affordable housing, properly funded social care and provision for young people.

The people of Christchurch need A FRESH START with new ideas to keep our beautiful town vibrant and available to all. VOTE LABOUR.

David has lived within Christchurch his entire life, He has three grown up children who all attended Highcliffe School. During his working life he spent time working on the railways and for several years was a retained firefighter, He also ran a couple of small businesses, now retired, he spends his time working hard within the community. He chairs the local community group Christchurch in Action, with the aim of addressing environmental issues, reducing social isolation and improve the health and wellbeing of all Christchurch residents and is a regular attendee of Resident Association meetings.

He is fully committed to improving the lives of everyone in Christchurch having petitioned the Council on several planning decisions, he strongly believes that they don’t fairly represent or listen to the residents of Christchurch. Being part of the Resident Board Partnership of Sovereign Housing, he is concerned by the lack of affordable homes for young families, which many are living in expensive sub-standard accommodation, if elected, he will work tirelessly to try and improve this issue within Christchurch.
