Re: Christchurch Labour Party launch their election campaign
We are pleased to announce our candidates who are standing for the local elections to the new BCP unitary authority on May 2nd 2019:
Burton & Grange Ward – Claire Wade and Andrew Dunne
Christchurch Town Ward – Bob Hope and David Munnik
Commons Ward – Peter Stokes and Antoinette Pearce
Highcliffe and Walkford Ward – Kathryn Boniface and Roger Boniface
Mudeford, Stanpit & West Highcliffe Ward – Gillian Hope and Will Deans
Our Christchurch Labour Party candidates are steeped in the local communities they seek to represent, living locally for many years and currently volunteering with various local charities and community organisations such as the Christchurch Foodbank, Christchurch Soup Kitchen, Buses for Burton Campaign, and Somerford Youth Club.
On Saturday 9th March at 8pm we will be launching our official election campaign.
Our launch will initially be online, with a follow up campaign stall in Christchurch High Street where you can meet your local candidates on Saturday 23rd March at 10am until 12.30pm.
The online launch will be on our social media channels, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, as well as the unveiling of our new website (www.christchurchlabour.org) which will contain information about our Party, our election campaign, candidates, and our local manifesto.
This local manifesto has been put together following months of listening to local people in the street and on the doorstep , hearing their concerns, identifying the issues they face, then providing the kind of ideas and solutions which will be the backbone of what a Labour Councillor can do to improve our communities and local area.
A Labour Councillor in Christchurch will be your eyes, ears, and strong voice for everything happening in your community. When elected, we pledge to hold monthly ‘surgeries’ for all local residents to come and address us personally to discuss concerns, or just find out more about what is happening in the new Unitary Authority. You deserve a strong voice, and your Labour Councillor will provide it.
We commit to honesty, integrity, and transparency in everything we do. When you ask us a question, we will answer. For too long ‘politics’ in Christchurch has become a dirty word due to inaction, poor standards, and a lack of transparency. We understand this and will show that you can have strong local Councillors who will stand up for you and your community. Give us the chance to prove it. Vote Labour for real change.
